February 29—Recipes and a Moving Update

I have completely redone the recipes section. I mean, it looks mostly the same, but there are over thirty new recipes, and it's organized differently. I did this in preparation for my move; I'm going to have to leave the best cookbook behind since it's technically my dad's (even though I'm the one who uses it . . . ), so I figured I'd post my own versions of the recipes I use most often that aren't already on the site. "Curiously," a lot of the new recipes are desserts.

I presented the Klein bottle hat and Moebius scarf to Henry Wednesday. He seemed to appreciate them; he was curious about the patterns and stitches.

I've been brainstorming ideas for new sections of the site. I've got ideas for a couple of new stories, rants, and pranks; but I want to create new sections altogether. People have been telling me that they want to see more on the site about me, not just stories. I thought my fictional stories said quite a lot about who I am since so much of them is based on truth, but apparently not. So I thought a section of nonfiction stories might go over well. I could easily introduce a whole section based on klutzy incidents in which I've entangled myself, or awkward romantic/sexual encounters. I could also parodically chronicle my new life in Houston. Other ideas for new sections include my music (yes, I write a little music—emphasis on little), or I could develop a section of stories just for the theatre section; nonfiction work-related stories.

Also. I am not moving this weekend after all. Kirston did not have the day off, so it's being pushed forward a week. While anxious to move, it's fine by me since it gives me time to install my new hard drive (or rather, get my dad to do it for me after I nag about it, he doesn't do it, I start to do it myself, and he comes in and does it for me while insisting I won't do it right).
