September 3—Updates for Rants and ARSE

The load in for Wicked was not busy for me; I was an extra hand and sadly didn't get to do much. On that note, though, I have posted a rant on professionalism. The load out went much better: I was busier and also introduced myself to the assistant stage manager as I'd wanted to. I was nervous about the latter, but it went well; he was quite pleasant.

I also posted a rant on How Not to Get Blocked on Instant Messenger. I lament my ever-shrinking social circle, but really, I'd rather be lonely than surrounded by idiots.

I had jury duty on August 27th. I've never received a jury summons before, so it was an interesting experience, although I didn't get picked. That's just as well since of the two juries they were selecting, one was for a speeding ticket, and the other was for a lack of liability insurance. I donated half of the ten dollar stipend to some kids' welfare thing and put the rest toward a few small things from the grocery store.

I've also posted new stories in ARSE. V8 is the first story in the college section; and in the post college section, I've posted stories for The Electrician, San Antonio Guy, and The Idiot.

I have decided to delete the Book of the Week section since I haven't been keeping up with it. On a similar note, I haven't abandoned the poltical blog; it's just that not a lot has been going on.

September 23—Some Long-Awaited Updates

I've updated klutzy incidents at long last, but only for July and September; I'm still working on August.

I've also updated the political blog retroactively; there isn't a lot there. That will, with any luck, change once Congress gets back in session.

I'm working on the ARSE section. I worry that the last few stories I posted were too bitter; that section was intended to be highly self-deprecating in tone. I hope to return to that with the next couple of stories, beginning with the story of the Science Teacher.

September 29—Another new ARSE!

I've updated klutzy incidents and the political blog.

I have also posted another ARSE, by the way. This one tells the story of a Friend with Benefits I met when I was going to UT. He moved to Houston around the same time I was living with my grandfather, and I saw him once or twice when I moved back.

Anyway, with Halloween, my favorite holiday, less than a month away, I am trying to decide what I want to wear. I have several costume ideas. I could match my red dress and heels with red stockings and a tail and horns and go as a devil; I could wear my red skirt and navy and white striped shirt and go as a sailor or pirate; I could wear show blacks and a tool belt and go as a stagehand (ahem). But, to be more fun, I have two more conventional costumes: French maid and Playboy Bunny. I think I want to do one of those two, but which? The French maid's outfit lacks a decent feather duster as an accessory: I have a feather duster, but it's ugly. The Playboy Bunny costume is terrifically hot, but I don't know if I really want to wear it in public, especially after dark. Thoughts, anyone?
