April 30For God's sake, people, I do have a life outside of this website; not updating it for a few weeks after maintaining it for years doesn't mean I've abandoned it. My foot is almost better. It still hurts, at least it does when I have shoes on, but I'm not limping much anymore. I planted a vegetable patch a few weeks ago, spawning the creation of a new section, Gardening, which thus far only has a page of tips on it. Digging the patch was a challenge since the soil around here is so rocky; I had to dig through a mass of weeds with a sod-like root mass, a bunch of gravel, rock-hard dirt, and then all the rocks themselves. I saved all the rocks to use as edging around the patch. Anyway, I planted tomatoes, bell peppers, summer squash, green onions, salad mix, peas, and artichokes. In above-ground containers, I planted sweet onions, blueberries, blackberries, basil, dill, cilantro, and lavender. I plan on planting curly leaf parsley as well if I can ever find the seeds. I've reorganized the knitting section again; I made separate folders for each style of project. I've been knitting (sporadically, depending on my wrists) a couple of new shirts for summer wear. I finished the Dead Kennedys shirt and wore it to work a few weeks ago, where it gathered many compliments and a request for the pattern. I'm working on another sleeveless shirt as well: I can't wear several of my tank tops to work since they're conducive to nip slips, and I've not had any luck finding nice summer shirts elsewhere, so I'm just making my own. It's hard to find knitting patterns for summery tops that aren't horrible, so I'll probably be designing some of my own and then posting them in the knitting section, but that's a ways off yet. Anyway, I've updated the political blog and klutzy incidents.
