July 4Happy birthday, America! I've been on an art kick lately. Yes, there's yet another new section. Perhaps it's in my genes, perhaps it's osmosis via hanging around theatres, perhaps I'm bored with just knitting and typing all the time, or perhaps I want to change things up a bit in my house. Whatever. Anyway, the point is I've been working on a few ideas to spice up the walls of my house. The first project, a checkerboard, is now complete and hangs on the wall of my room. Up next I'm planning a scrapbook tree, that being a copper wire sculpture I will use as a three dimensional scrap book for stuff I get from shows I've worked. I've been keeping up with the Project a Week Project (PAWP); I finished the trellis rib cap and parallelogram cap and posted the pattern for the basketweave cap. In the process of taking the photos, I also finally got around to taking a photo of the now-famous Dead Kennedys shirt. Also, I got some old photos off the camera and now have a new page in the pix section of the snowfall from last February. I have, as usual, updated klutzy incidents and the political blog, the latter of which, you can see, has moved from the "Hobbies" tab to the "Writing" tab on the left hand menu. Also, now that my vegetable patch is starting to show some results, I've posted some pages in the gardening section with photos. I also updated the various pages in the reading section for the first time since the great book disaster of last January. I've updated the Conversations page with a humorous snippet regarding an unfortunate incident that occurred the other night. The details of aforementioned incident are mentioned in the newly-amended ending of the story of the Professor in ARSE. One final thing. In the last few updates I've made to the site, I've spotted some errors in the code, and I've spent the last few days going through and proof reading every single page of the site. People, if something doesn't work or is labeled wrong, email me and tell me. As I observed in Klutzy Incidents the other day, this site hangs by a thread on the edge of acceptable dorkiness; I really don't need bad code to send it over the edge of that cliff labeled Suck.
July 12Happy Birthday to Me Today I turned twenty-seven, the same age as Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, and Brian Jones all were when they died. If that's not an excellent excuse to spend the whole year drunk, I don't know what is. Spending the year in a drunken stupor shouldn't be difficult since I received nothing but alcohol for my birthday from my dad. Nobody else remembered my birthday. Assholes. Anyway, I've updated the Project a Week Project, klutzy incidents, and the political blog. I also updated the recipe for Black Forest cake since that was my birthday present to myself. Well, that and American Psycho on DVD.
