Dishonorable Mentions

Dishonorable Mentions is a section of ARSE devoted to minor encounters not worthy of a full story. Within ARSE proper, every story spans several paragraphs, however uneventful the story actually is. Dishonorable Mentions features non-stories I feel are nevertheless worth mentioning. It's like a section for ARSE rejects. As I discussed with my friend Chris (who coined the term Dishonorable Mentions) on instant messenger—

me: I guess DM can be really short stories; most of them like a paragraph long or so, excluding the copy/pasted text of emails.
Chris: that could work
me: Yeah . . . guys who didn't make the cut . . . Jesus, rejected even from ARSE.
me: It's like my Slamdance.
me: um
me: Slamdance = film festival
me: for people rejected from Sundance
me: and then there's Slumdance, for people rejected from Slamdance
me: I don't know what the next tier down is.
me: probably something hosted by UT
me: er
me: not to trash my alma mater or anything
me: but well . . . yeah.
Chris: ha!

Um . . . well . . . I don't have a tier down from Dishonorable Mentions; perhaps the guys who whistle at me in the street would fill the bill, but I'm not writing about them.

Anyway, you get the idea. Here we have it, stories of guys who didn't even make it to ARSE.
