The pantry is a primarily utilitarian space, but that is no reason it shouldn't look good. Our pantry is quite small, so we created space by hanging a shelf inside the door. My dad built it out of pine and stained it to match some of our other furniture. If your own pantry is roomier, you could always hang artwork on the inside of the door instead. Some people use liner paper on their pantry shelves. I don't like the way such paper collects dust, so I don't use it, but if I did, I'd get it in a color or pattern to match the rest of the kitchen. |
