Pattern:
With smaller needles, cast on 80 sts. (Increase or decrease the number of sts in multiples of 10 for a larger or smaller cap. Alternatively, you could use a smaller or larger needle size.) Join, being careful not to twist work. Place marker to indicate end of round. Work in garter st for one inch (about six rounds). Switch to larger needles.
Rnds 1-6: (K5, P5) around.
Rnds 7-12: (P5, K5) around.
Repeat Rnds 1-12 till hat measures 6" from beginning. Begin decreases.
