Gauge: 4.5 stitches per inch 5.5 rows per inch Stitch Explanation: K—knit P—purl st(s)—stitch(es) arnd—around rnd—round K2tog—knit two together Pattern: Cast on 100 sts with dark pink. (Increase or decrease the number of sts in multiples of 10 for a larger or smaller hat. Alternatively, you could use a smaller or larger needle size.) Join, being careful not to twist work. Place marker to indicate end of round. Work in K1P1 rib for 6 inches. Switch to light pink and work in K1P1 rib for 1 inch. Switch back to dark pink, work for 1 inch, and begin decreases. Decreases: (Change to double pointed needles as needed.) Rnd 1: (K8, K2tog) around—90 sts. Rnd 2 and all even rows: K around. Rnd 3: (K7, K2tog)around—80 sts. Rnd 5: (K6, K2tog) around—70 sts. Rnd 7: (K5, K2tog) around—60 sts. Rnd 9: (K4, K2tog) around—50 sts. Rnd 11: (K3, K2tog) around—40 sts. Rnd 13: (K2, K2tog) around—30 sts. Rnd 15: (K1, K2tog) around—20 sts.
