Knitting Patterns

The only patterns I have posted here are ones I designed myself or else altered significantly enough that the original is no longer recognizable.

I've always been a huge fan of free patterns, at least in part because I don't like having to pay for a pattern before seeing whether it's any good, so my knitting patterns are free. Please do NOT redistribute, reproduce or sell these patterns. (Really; the patterns are free already.)

I've made the patterns as clear to follow as I could. I've included useful tips and tutorials wherever possible, and I adopted Elizabeth Zimmermann's conversational style for a couple of them since I thought it would ease interpretation of an otherwise tricky pattern.

All patterns will involve scissors and a yarn needle for weaving in loose ends, but I didn't include them in the "materials" section of each pattern because it should be obvious. Each pattern includes a stitch guide and a label indicating the pattern skill level. Refer to the chart below for definitions of skill levels.

PATTERN SKILL LEVELS

Beginner (Level 1): Basic stitches, basic increasing, decreasing, and finishing skills.
Advanced Beginner (Level 2): Simple stitch patterns and/or shaping. Good for learning stripes or basic intarsia.
Intermediate (Level 3): More complicated stitch patterns and charts. Good for learning cables, lace, socks, and knitting in the round.
Advanced Intermediate (Level 4): Multiple stitch patterns within one garment, more complicated shaping. Good for learning Fair Isle.
Experienced (Level 5): Intricate stitch and color patterns and/or involved shaping and finishing techniques.
