Stashbusting Scarf I Pattern

Materials:
Needles: #8 straight needles
Yarn: leftover yarn from previous projects, at least two skeins total

Gauge:
Not that important since it's a scarf, but if you wish:
~4.5 stitches per inch
~6 rows per inch

Stitch Explanation:
K—knit
st(s)—stitch(es)
St st—Stockinette stitch

Pattern:

Cast on 26 sts in main color. Work in garter st for two rows; switch to St st except for the first and last 2 sts of every row. K those sts for a garter st border.

Work in main color for about an inch. Then begin adding other colors to form miscellaneous blocks of color on the scarf, such as the sketch below.

Work in garter st for two rows; cast off. Weave in loose ends; block.
