I decided to knit my old roommate Kirston a pair of socks in the leftover sage green yarn from a hat I'd already given him. I opted for socks since I knew he was headed up north on tour, and though it was in the early summer, I knew it still got cold at night up north. Thusly, I decided to knit him a pair of Lion Brand Men's Socks. However, that pattern had some problems with it, and even though the site posted corrections to the pattern, the pattern still sucked, so I rewrote it to suit me. I haven't knitted men's socks before, so I couldn't tell if they were really the right size. I hope they weren't too long or too tight. Either way, he didn't say much when I presented them to him, but he didn't seem unpleasantly surprised. At least, he didn't take me up on my offer to take them back. I hope he gets some use out of them. |
