Cardamom Bread

Prepare 1 package hot roll mix according to package. Add 2 tablespoons melted butter, cooled, 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons ground cardamom or 1 teaspoon crushed cardamom seed, and 1/2 cup light raisins; mix well. Cover; let rise till double (1 hour).

On lightly floured surface, knead dough about 1 minute; divide in thirds. Roll each third under hands to from a strand 10 inches long; tapering ends. Place strands, 1 inch apart, on greased baking sheet.

Beginning in middle, braid the 3 strands loosely, working toward either end. Pinch ends together. Cover and let rise till almost double (about 40 minutes). Brush braid with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375° for 25 minutes. Serve warm.
