2+ cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled and finely diced or grated
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup sour cream
1 large egg

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Work in butter till mixture resembles course bread crumbs. Stir in raisins. Add sour cream and egg.

Turn out on floured surface and pat into an eight-inch round. Sprinkle one teaspoon sugar over top. Slice into 8 triangles. Place on greased baking sheet and bake at 400° 15-17 minutes or till golden.

They're great with clotted cream, raspberry preserves, and a cup of tea.
