Sour Cream Pound Cake


1/2 cup butter
3 eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Leave butter, eggs, and sour cream at room temperature for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, grease and flour 8x4x2 or 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. In mixing bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and baking soda.

Beat butter on medium/high speed 30 seconds. Gradually add sugar, beating 10 minutes or till light and fluffy. Add vanilla. Add eggs one at a time, beating one minute after each addition. Alternately add flour and sour cream mixture, beating on medium/low speed after each addition till just combined, Pour into pan.

Bake at 425° 50-60 minutes or till toothpick comes out clean. cool on rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool (about two hours).
