Prepare Stirred Custard using light cream instead of milk. Cook 2 minutes after it coats spoon; cool and stir in vanilla. Pour into 1-quart shallow baking dish; chill. Sift 1/2 cup brown sugar over. Set in shallow pan of ice cubes and cold water. Broil 8 inches from heat 5 minutes or till bubbly crust forms. Serve warm or chilled. |
